This beauty arrived in the mail yesterday. Not only is it an exciting addition to my Man Asian Prize collection and personal reading quest, it's a first edition book that I can confidently say is in fine/fine condition and worth between $10 and $40 on the used book market. And it has clearly never been opened, much less read.
There's something so special about a pristine book, one that crackles a little bit when you lift its cover for the first time.
Of course, I also love the comfort of a book that's been thoroughly but carefully read.
New and old - each charming in a different way. We lovers of books know those charms well.
