Overcast in Seattle

Day 2 in Seattle with the Marlins, and a quick glance out of my 27th floor hotel room window -- one that offers a direct view of the Space Needle -- reveals gray clouds and a strong hint of rain. Typical weather in these parts. The good news is that Safeco Field has a retractable roof, so there is no danger of a delay or rainout.

J.G. should be in her bar prep class, listening in on another compelling lecture on some matter of the law. And I'm at a desk, working on our blog. We've chosen a name (Hotch Pot Cafe) that we think will fit the medley of our postings, one that expresses our multitude of interests (books, baseball, THE BAR) and noninterests (parades and fireworks).
