The Other Side of the News

Just when I'd heard more about Michael Jackson, Sarah Palin, and "wise Latina" than I ever possibly wanted to know, I came across a couple of news items that restored my faith in the news process.

First up, a story entitled Librarians Go Wild For Gold Book Cart, concerning the Book Cart Drill championships. Who knew? Check it out here at NPR, if you are so inclined. Yes, there is video.

Next, Pittsburgh's Morse Code Message Gets Jumbled. Talk about an embarrassing public mistake (not that most people would notice). Also a gem from NPR. Good luck, Pittsburgh. This has got to be a blow to your self-esteem, but I know you can get it right.
