White as Snow

Feast your eyes on this little guy. White Prince is his name, he's a yearling, and he was sold at auction in Kentucky last week. But what makes White Prince so special is his color. He is white from head to hoof.

And how unusual is that, you ask?

Well, since they started keeping records in 1896, The Jockey Club has recognized just 16 white thoroughbreds bred in the U.S. To put that number in context, the JC registers anywhere from 25,000 to 40,000 thoroughbreds a year.

  4. Actually, he sold for 6,000,000 pretty pennies. Only time will tell if he lives up to his looks on the race track.
